Jenkins installation on Linux

Install Git

yum install git

Install Java

sudo apt updatesudo apt install default-jdk
java –version
sudo update-alternatives --config java
  • /usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-amd64/bin/java (where OpenJDK 11 is located)
  • /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/bin/java (where OpenJDK 8 is located)\
nano /etc/environment

Install Maven

sudo wget -O /etc/yum.repos.d/epel-apache-maven.reposudo sed -i s/\$releasever/6/g /etc/yum.repos.d/epel-apache-maven.reposudo yum install -y apache-maven
mvn –version

Install Jenkins

wget -q -O - | 
sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo deb binary/ > \
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install jenkins

Start Jenkins

sudo systemctl start jenkins
sudo systemctl status jenkins
cd /var/lib/jenkins/secretscat initialAdminPassword
